What I Weigh Today

153.5

Posted by: joymanning In: Weigh In

That’s not good at all. There has been a lot of cookie action around here lately and less running, due to the blizzard of 09. There was also a pretty unfortunate tequila/vodka/sister incident. The holidays are tough from a weight-management perspective. I’m a little swamped right now, with a house guest and a Christmas dinner to plan for and prep, but I wanted to update you. And face this not great news myself.

Yes, this is a challenging time of year, Thanksgiving to New Years, for those of us who are trying to watch our weight. I have been gaining and losing the same 5-10 lbs. for years. I have been keeping track of this on my weight blog, inspired by you, and it seems to be making me more accountable. Usually by this time, I have already gained and am now saying, “What the hell!” and eating every thing in sight. I don’t know how this will turn out, but I am doing better than past years in that I have not gone above my weight ceiling, 150 lbs. Good luck to us both. It’s not easy. I am motivated because I just hate, year after year, having to lose the holiday booze/dessert/2nd helpings weight.

My weight watchers leader used to always call this time of year National Gluttony Month. You’ll take it off in the new year, and probably running will help once this damn snow clears!

I think we’re all feeling this way, especially if you’ve been snowed in (I know I have). I take comfort in the fact that it’s a collective few pound weight gain, and it’ll go back down in January.
